Relevant Accomplishments 

  • Full P&L responsibility for a 1000+ employee, 24/7 operation, wire and cable products plant.  Product lines included, copper data category cable, fiber optic cable, multi conductor copper cable for numerous applications.  Total annual volume $150 million at standard cost.  Organizational refocus on Lean Daily Management as the primary tool to meet KPI/TTI objectives. Achieved annual scrap rate reductions: Year 1 @ 10.5%, Year 2 @ 9.5%; Year 3 @ 8.3%, Year 4 @ 7.8%.  Achieved annual operating cost reductions (productivity savings) of 6% in Year 1, 9.3% in Year 2 and 13.2% in Year 3.  This represents approximately $2 million per year for three consecutive years.  Transformation of facility Safety program to be pro-active and employee inclusive.  OSHA Recordable Incidents decreased from 7 in Year 1 to 1 in Year 2.  OSHA annual recordable rate has not exceeded 1.0.  Directed the plant expansion per the following; 400-600K sq. ft., 650-1100 associates, and $100-150 million in production volume at cost.
  • Full P&L responsibility for a 250 employee, two shift Enterprise Connectivity products plant.  Product lines included, copper data cable patch cords, industrial automation connection cables, and fiber optic connectors and patch cables.  Total annual volume $20 million at standard cost.  Drove a complete facility transformation at the plant, with two high impact projects.  Facility had operated for 14 years as a sub-contract maquiladora operation (shelter).  With corporate support, exited the shelter arrangement and developed operations under Mexican corporation.  Thus, enjoying operational savings of $400K/year, while aligning the organizational culture.
  • Managed a plant transfer project over a four weeks period, with production operations in both locations during the move, and met the month’s planned production output levels.  Proactively managed employee relations to minimize attrition and preserve all key employees.
  • Managed a 15 persons department dedicated to handling special pricing requests in support of strategic business initiatives for a Harness Manufacturing business.  Processed an average of 120 quotations per day, valued at $50 million per month in potential sales.  Interfaced with PLM, Marketing, Channel Distribution Sales Management, and Regional Sales Management ensure Pricing Operations were in line with commercial initiatives.  Developed and Implemented a software enhancement to the quotation platform to “close the loop” on ship and debit special pricing credits.  Enabled a $5million annual cost avoidance related to issuing unearned credits via improved traceability.  Worked with Channel Management to develop a new “monolithic” pricing structure for distributors.
  • Additional Operational Leadership included: 
  • 350-400 employee electromechanical temperature controls, pressure controls for refrigeration applications and thermocouple products for gas heating applications. 
  • 1000 employee facility producing electronic, electromechanical and pneumatic HVAC control products. 
  • 200 employee unionized fabrication / manufacturing operation – high volume, high mix with 2400 distinct end items – metal stamping, screw machine, plastic molding, oven brazing and assembly  
  • 500 employee facility producing new and refurbished cable TV decoder boxes 
  • 350 employee, two shift cabinet door manufacturing and finishing operation 
  • 275 employee green field cabinet manufacturing operation
