Relevant Accomplishments

  • Developed a critical pilot line qualification process that identified the minimum capital equipment expenditure required to successfully qualify production lines in the US Design Center while saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital and two to three weeks in line setup and testing.
  • Implemented across the department the use of analytical Six Sigma tools such as sample size calculation, measurement systems analysis and process capability analysis which were part of a corporate wide Business Excellence training initiative that resulted in significant savings in both cost and time for process improvements making the team more productive.
  • Led the Twin Cities Operations team responsible for development of automated equipment and tooling including the “Factory of the Future” initiative to develop a new automated assembly platform to support the “build any drive on any line in any factory” mantra.
  • Led the weekly overseas factory teleconference meetings prioritizing, addressing and resolving the top process, quality and program issues.
  • Consulted with the released product core teams in response to manufacturing process quality issues utilizing DMAIC and CAPA problem solving approaches.
  • Mentored junior engineers as they developed skills in requirements gathering, process definition, FMEA, design, implementation, process improvement, monitoring and control.
  • Led the effort to document the processes and procedures for the Tooling & Automation department and training of the employees that supported in the initial ISO certification for the organization as well as recurring ISO audits to maintain certification.
