Relevant Accomplishments

• Performed a 2-month due diligence acquisition audit.  Provided subject matter expertise across Operations, Quality/Compliance, Product Development, and Human Resources during due diligence for the acquisition of a 175employee, 100,000 sq. ft. nutraceutical contract manufacturing facility.  The resulting in depth due diligence report included 70 observations and a Top 3 initiative recommendations.  The recommended action items are being used as the foundation for 1-, 2-, and 3-year plans of the recently completed purchase. 

• Completed a 2-week rapid assessment of a specialty nutraceutical contract manufacturer.  Client company was a successful player in the nutraceutical field looking to bring contracted manufacturing in-house.  Acted as SME to evaluate facility, equipment, layout, capacity and compatibility.  A brief was prepared and findings were presented to client leadership resulting in a completed acquisition in late 2025. 

 

• Equipment and facility Engineering.  Client was a raw material supplier wanting to evaluate their potential as a contract oral dosage producer.  I performed an in-depth review of the facility, infrastructure, marketplace equipment, existing capabilities and personnel requirements.  Multiple layouts were prepared and presented.  Met with potential equipment suppliers and attended vendor site visits with the client. Capital and Operating budgets were created and considered. The niche market for the client’s raw material resulted in a forecast for limited demand of the product and the study resulted in a recommendation not to proceed based on an extended ROI. 

• Cost Control and Productivity enhancement. As VP of Operations, I drove multiple initiatives to improve site operations.  $432,000 annual savings with a 90-day ROI in warehouse operations.  Reduced fully burdened direct labor cost from >13% to <6% of revenue.  Through the application of Lean Principles and 5S Bottling costs reduced to 71% of parent site.  Responsible for the creation of and management of  Operations and Capital Budgets. 

• Systems. As Senior Director for a large oral dosage contract manufacturer I led the global implementation of a centralized ERP system supporting sites in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico to synchronize data exchange and visibility across various acquired sites.  Implemented Value Stream Manufacturing at a large pharmaceutical site (1 million sq ft, 3500 site employees in a Union environment).  Created and monitored KPI’s, Metrics and Goals in various roles.
