Relevant Accomplishments 

  • Partners in Performance Initiative: Spearheaded the development, launch, and support of the groundbreaking “Partners in Performance” program. Collaborated with over 15,000 subcontractors nationwide, spanning various trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, painting, and small general contracting. This initiative aimed at enhancing business performance and processes for small and medium-sized enterprises. Key focus areas included financial management, insurance and bonding, business planning, contract management, estimating, project scoping and pricing, business development, HR, and employee retention strategies. 
  • “Doing Business With The Federal Government” Program: Conceptualized, crafted the curriculum, and established partnerships for the implementation of the “Doing Business With The Federal Government” initiative. Worked closely with prominent industry associations including Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders and Contractors, and Design Build Institute Association, along with governmental entities such as the Small Business Administration, SCORE, Naval Facilities Command, Army Corps of Engineers, and Military District of Washington. Collaborated with local banks supporting the construction sector, bonding agents, and eight general contractors. This program facilitated training sessions and a tradeshow, drawing participation from over 300 small to medium-sized construction businesses. 
  • National Subcontracting Safety Fairs: Enhanced and formalized the national “Subcontracting Safety Fairs,” delivering localized training sessions to promote safe practices across various aspects of construction work, encompassing equipment safety, electrical safety, heavy equipment operation, toolbox safety sessions, CPR and medical response, crane operation, and life-saving procedures. Successfully expanded this national program to over 50 locations nationwide, working with 2,000 construction subcontracting businesses.  
  • Managerial Development Conferences: Delivered impactful presentations at managerial development conferences for seven consecutive years, attracting over 100 construction business managers annually. Topics ranged from “How to Say a Positive No” with a focus on profitable project selection, to “Better Business and Site Management,” “Improving Listening Skills,” and “Customer Service: The Greatest Determiner of Project Profitability.” Consistently recognized for delivering top-notch presentations at these conferences year after year.
