Summary

This Corporate M&A interim executive is a retired executive with 20 years of investment banking experience followed by 17 years of corporate M&A experience. He has extensive experience working with corporate teams and consultants (lawyers, accountants, economists & investment bankers) in negotiating and closing acquisitions and divestitures. Bill has led corporate teams and external advisors in executing over $10 billion of acquisitions and divestitures.

He has been retained as a consultant for various PE firms to lead diligence teams in evaluating and negotiating potential acquisitions by portfolio companies. Additionally, he was retained by the CEO of an early-stage ($7M in revenue) EV technology company to help the CFO prepare information and pursue options to either sell the company or raise additional funds from VC firms.

Relevant Accomplishments

  • Significant experience working with the owners, board members, management teams, and potential buyers (strategic & financial) of small and large companies throughout all phases of a divestiture.
  • Managed the divestiture of a portion of business in Europe (~13M euros of revenue & 125 employees).  This divestiture was required by the European Commission for antitrust reasons in order to complete a ~ $900M acquisition of a major competitor. He led the team that completed the sale within the 90-day time period required not only to satisfy the EC but also to avoid paying a very large penalty to the seller (high 8 digits)
  • Completed various divestitures of small business units for Loyalty Management Software business (sold to one of the largest advertising companies in the US); Petroleum Software Accounting & Reporting Software business (sold to a competitor for its geographical expansion): Subscription Fulfillment business (sold to a competitor); and Digital Studios (sold to a PE firm)
