Relevant Accomplishments 

  • Operations Turn-Around / Productivity Improvement  

Led team to incorporate Ford’s Heavy Truck Division Feature Based Release (FBR) System to harness assemblies. Created and implemented new processes to link engineering, quotation, sales and service, quality and assembly to reduce complexity and increase productivity. Implemented in-line vehicle sequence facility to ensure 100% on-time delivery. The result of these efforts was a $10 million dollar turnaround from the previous year. 

Implemented similar tools to streamline AAA’s acquisition of VW’s Jetta/ Beetle product line in Puebla Mexico. Replaced IT system and implemented sequencing software for in-line sequencing. Also implemented customized on-line welding solution specific to each vehicle. Streamlined kitting operations and increased warehouse cycle count accuracy. The results of these efforts resulted in a $20 million turnaround from the previous year. 

  • Commercial Vehicle Customer Service 

Expanded tools implemented for Ford Heavy Truck to Peterbilt and Kenworth platforms. Reduced cycle time for quotations and improved on-time delivery from 80-85% and maintaining profitability. 

  • Lean Manufacturing Coach 

Established and trained a group in Mexico to become Lean resources for twenty-two plants. Established projects across the company to improve flow and decrease WIP, and inventory through effective stores, buffers, and safety stock. Achieved an improvement of $12 million in the first year. While working in Puebla, establish a Honduran sub-assembly plant using level loading and pull-system to supply VW harnesses.
