Summary
As a senior manager of the International Insurance Programs for General Motors, this expert independently developed and managed a variety of different auto and credit related insurance products for the OEM and its credit division in both domestic and international platforms.
He was responsible for integrating a global business plan of insurance products and insurance revenue stream integration through complex insurance and fee income pathways such as profit sharing, quota sharing, commission structures, and reinsurance. To achieve these goals, he performed in-depth market analysis of insurance product availablilty as well as reported on the quality of vendors that could comply with demanding participation and administration agreements. Market reviews, product tendering, and reporting with insurance vendors and brokers was a regular occurance.
The success of his management of insurance programs was noted in new product introductions, service level improvements, product type diversity, and increased revenue generation to GMAC. For example, under his leadership of the Mexico branch, insurance product annuaul net revenue was improved in three years time from 12.2MM to 24MM making Mexico the most important producer of GMAC’s international insurance revenue operations.   • Improved value-added proposition of auto insurance programs through a “reciprocal business cycle” model by connecting the repairs to an OEM affiliated dealer, using genuine OEM parts, and branding products to the OEM.

  • In addition to servicing General Motors, integrated new partners (Chrysler, Subaru, FIAT, Isuzu, and Mitsubishi) in Mexico providing new growth in retail and wholesale insurance business.
