Relevant Accomplishments

  • Served as both a Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer for several digital media companies (McGraw Hill, Blue Global Media, MOBE), providing technical and operational oversight into all digital media products, marketing, and sales.
  • Complete P&L oversight. In addition to overseeing all P&L accounting activities, Cort managed an annual technology budget of $32MM while at McGraw Hill and marketing budgets of over $15MM (various companies).
  • Extensive work with legal counsel in the protection of company IP (intellectual property). Cort worked to protect systems, processes, and proprietary code responsible for the generation of over $100MM.
  • Served as primary lead in all M&A activities. Functions included business viability assessments, business process integration, and winding down of sub-business stakes.
  • Managed life cycle product planning and marketing activities to increase the profitability of existing products by driving sales success and development of new products and services that generated new revenue streams and increased established revenue by 2x (from $25M to $65M within 1 year) for the business.
  • Scaled internal business processes, procedures, and systems, supporting 100% YOY internal company headcount growth
  • Defined the Digital Product Strategy & Roadmap – Developed and drove the strategic vision for each product, with shared accountability across disciplines and coordinated activities across the entire product lifecycle (technology, sales, and marketing).
