Summary
This Interim CFO in the Payments and Finance Industry is an advsior to startup companys in the Fintech space and was also recently the Chief Financial Officer of a payments company sold to Prepaid Technologies in 2019. Prior to that, he was a Wall Street executive with 20+ years advising financial institutions on mergers and acquisitions, capital raises and general corporate finance. He is seasoned in leading client companies through the M&A process, including preparing financial and operational results, evaluating prospects and strategic positioning, preparing for and running due diligence, navigating potential acquirers and their advisors, negotiating transactions and advising C-Suite executive and their Boards.
His relevant industry experience includes his time since leaving Wall Street, where he has acted as an advisor to various Fintech company’s, including a tech enabled servicer to the mortgage and consumer finance sectors. In his experience as an investment banker, his relevant client work included such names as American Express, Discover, Capital One, Alliance Data and Synchrony, as well as newer Fintech credit providers such as Sofi where his experience was relevant. He is broadly articulate on blockchain, given his client universe and time in payments, and is excited by how meaningful its impact will prove to be.

Select Relevant Accomplishments
- As CFO positioned the company for a “C” round capital raise while managing cash projected to run out in June. Rebuilt the financial forecasts with a focus on business drivers and data analytics to support the forecast, re-developed the investment thesis, developed a calling effort for both investors and potential acquirers, and ran a process ultimately leading to the sale of the Company in 2019. Oversaw the finance function, including monthly close; managed cash flow, including re-negotiating contracts, forestalling vendor payments and negotiating employee cash compensation; oversaw risk, including preventing a repeat of past incidence of fraud; worked with auditors on changes to company accounting; and managed communication with employees, the Board and the founder.
- Worked on the sale of a commercial finance company to a large conglomerate. Advisory mandate earned through deep knowledge of the Company and potential acquirers, an appropriate vision of how to position the company for maximum value, deep experience in M&A and negotiating strategy more broadly and a trusted relationship based on years of good advice. Performed our own due diligence, developed the marketing plan, worked on financials and supporting documentation for acquirer diligence, prepared management, reached out to acquirers and managed the bidding process.
