- Transformation to SEC Company – Member of the leadership team that grew this IPO-company from $480 million to $1.4 billion in sales and significantly improved profitability. Transformed the accounting unit of a company carved-out from a larger parent company into a successful SEC reporting unit managing SOX requirements and Investor Relations support.
- M&A – managed financial aspects of $72mm acquisition: accounting, due diligence; valuation process. Worked with investment bankers and third-party valuation firms under DCF, market comps, and transaction-valuation methods. Completed post IPO goodwill and impairment analysis of intangible assets.
- eCommerce – integral part of financial team that grew eCommerce business from $72m to $180m
- Strategy and Corporate Development:
- Participated in significant customer research project that established customer segmentation and defined strategies for assortment planning and merchandising in stores. Basis for a shift in strategy to pursue higher demographic and led to development of new store concepts.
- Integral part of roll-out of new powersports division. Evaluated, reported and analyzed supply chain activity/issues, control of inventories, pricing and margin management and developed complete P&L impacts.
- Led retail credit program that maximized integration of credit offering into store operations and daily culture. Significantly improved customer engagement in the loyalty program, resulting in incremental sales penetration at store level.
- Banking / Credit Facilities – key person in bank relationship for $530 million credit facility; Increased Net Orderly Liquidation Value 200+ bps by challenging liquidation expense model of appraiser.
- FP&A – initiated supplier profitability effort that evaluated a supplier’s worth to the company, incorporating product returns, supply chain costs, vendor allowance programs, cost of ordering, EDI costs, vendor consolidation and costs of exception processing. Resulted in $1mm + margin improvement
