This M&A expert has extensive executive leadership success in revitalizing and/or building small, medium, and large public and private companies (including companies owned by private equity and venture capital firms) in a variety of executive management positions (e.g., CEO, COO, CFO, CRO). A significant part of this corporate development guru’s experience has been focused on the mergers and acquisitions area. He began his career in the 1980’s with a leading Wall Street law firm where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and corporate financings. After leaving the practice of law, He continued to spend a substantial portion of his time in these areas on the business and operational side while also remaining active on the legal side. He has been involved in all aspects of the mergers and acquisition process from the initial strategic planning of whether to pursue a deal, to preparing and positioning a company for a deal, to preparing confidential information memoranda and related marketing materials and the data room, to performing due diligence and evaluating opportunities, to structuring, negotiating, and closing, and finally to the post-merger integration of a deal.

He has experience in multiple industries operating domestically and internationally, including consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, technology, and healthcare.

Relevant Selected Accomplishments

  • Led the development and implementation of new initiatives at Scott’s Liquid Gold, Inc. to improve sales, productivity, efficiency, and profitability without increasing staff or raising capital resulting in achieving net sales increases of over 300% and increasing the stock price more than 20 times.
  • Led all aspects by Scott’s Liquid Gold, Inc. of its acquisition of Prell and Denorex shampoos, including performing the due diligence, structuring and negotiating the deal, and integrating the acquired business post-closing.
  • Recruited, hired, and managed several accounting and finance departments. Implemented process improvements for these departments resulting in being able to more quickly and accurately close accounting periods and more efficient and cost-effective audits.
  • Led all aspects of the mergers and acquisition process for over 100 transactions dealing with all business, financial, operational, and legal matters from inception through post-closing integration.


    • Chief Financial Officer; Chief Operating Officer; and Board member at Scott’s Liquid Gold, Inc. – a $40 million, EBITDA of $9 million, family-controlled, public consumer products company that manufactures, distributes, and markets household, skin, and hair care products to major food, drug, mass, and specialty retailers and Amazon in the U.S., Canada, and China.
    • SVP, Corporate Development and General Counsel; and then Chief Executive Officer at ChannelPoint, Inc. – a privately held company that raised over $800 million to develop and provide enterprise-level software applications and professional services for health, property and casualty, life and annuity insurance, and financial services companies.
    • Co-Owner; VP, Corporate Development and General Counsel at Belae Brands, Inc. – a privately held company that was formed for the acqusition of a $90 million comsumer products company with international sales.
    • Corporate and Securities Attorney at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacabson- a leading Wall Street law firm where I specialized on mergers and acqusitions and corporate financings.
    • Director, Business Advisory Services at Hein & Associates, LLP (now part of Moss Adams, LLP) and CEO at LGK Advisors, LLC – both consulting practices where I advised clients on operational, financial, and organizational performance improvement; strategic planning and execution; mergers and acquisitions planning, due diligence, and integration; exit planning to maximize sale value; and raising capital.
